How to Set FTP Share Inventory (Share Inventory Hourly with Customers)

0:00 Hey, what's going on? So, in this video, I'm going to be showing you how to set up an FTP feed. 0:07 What is this for? This is pretty much useful if you have a customer who wants to access your inventory every hour automatically, or if you want to be sending your inventory to some place, some website, something, every hour, every six hours, every 24 hours. 0:23 So, we already have everything set in place, so I'm going to show you where to access and how to do this, okay? 0:29 So, the first thing you're going to be doing is you're going to go to Tirebase. We're going to use, for this example, my favorite sample tire shop. 0:37 There's a fictitious tire store. You're going to go to Settings, which is the last option here at the bottom. Keep in mind, we do have more options here. 0:48 Once you go to Settings, there's going to be this Inventory FTP Share, okay? You're going to click there. Now, from here, you're going to see empty. 0:56 You're going to click on the blue Add button, and from here, you're going to need three things from whoever is requesting an FTP feed, and I'm not going to get into a lot of specifics because chances are that if you're watching this, you already know how this works, but you're going to need the host, 1:11 which is typically an IP address or a website, uhm, you're going to need the username, and you're going to need the password for that. 1:18 Typically, ports are 21, but again, whoever is giving you that will give you a port, so this is provided by someone, and you're just going to paste it here. 1:26 Then, you are supposed to fill in this, right? So, you're going to have to decide which price level are we sending them, what's going to be the file name, again, whoever requested that it might ask you to name it. 1:36 a specific name, but if they haven't, then just put, you know, your store name, right? In this case, we would put Sample Tire, uhm, Inventory Now, keep in mind, there's no spaces allowed here, uh, and that's okay. 1:50 And then, you would specify which inventory you want to select, so if you have multiple stores, you might send only one store or multiple stores. 1:57 Then, you're going to say, uh, which specific time of the day. You want the first, uh, send to be, so I'm going to say, you know, where, I don't know, 5, 5 p.m., I could just do 15, right? 2:09 I'm going to do midnight, and then you could put frequency in hours, every one hour, and then you can also, like, some customers like to only send tires or wheels or parts, or you can send everything at once. 2:21 Okay, so whatever you want. Now, these two options, uh, if you want to add F.E.T. into the total price, or if you don't want to include F.E.T. 2:30 into the total price, and then you also have include zero stock items, so some people don't like to get the big, massive catalog, they just want to know what you have. 2:39 Once you're done, you click save, uh, you make sure you click this active. In my case, uh, it's not going to work because, you know, there's no, there's, there's no required fields. 2:48 But, um, after you're done, and I'm just going to put 192.168.158.1, right? Port 21, and I'm going to say tires, and I'm going to save this. 3:01 So from here, uh, now you've pretty much, you can manually send an FTP as of right now. The last time it's sent, you know, you're going to get a little message right here, and you can have as many FTPs as you want. 3:12 Okay. So, yeah, that's how you set up an FTP in Tirebase, and automatically, the inventory is going to be sent, being sent every hour. 3:21 I hope you found this useful. Thanks so much. See you next time.
